Whether it's the first day of school or the first time behind the wheel, kids grow up quickly and their health needs change just as quickly. Here are some quick questions to ask yourself — make sure that you're taking advantage of all that your health benefits offer to address those changing needs:
Back-to-school checkups: Do you have all of the right immunizations for the first day of school?
Braces: Is it time to consider a visit to the orthodontist? Does your plan include dental coverage, and is orthodontia included? If not, are there dental discount programs you can access?
Sports: Are your children active in sports? Are sports injuries common among your children? Does your plan cover rehabilitation/physical therapy/sports medicine services?
Glasses: Is your child in need of a visit to the ophthalmologist? Are glasses and/or contacts included in your health care coverage? And if not, does your plan offer discounts on prescription eyewear or at certain vision centers?
Off to College: Does your plan cover students while they are away at school? Should you consider the university's student health care plan?
